  • Enjoy yourself in the intact mountain wonders as you explore Stopića Cave, Gostilje Waterfall, and the breathtaking landscapes along the Gold Gondola ride.
  • Wander the charming streets of Woodentown-Mećavnik, a unique ethnic complex created by renowned filmmaker Emir Kusturica. Learn more about this interesting place and discover a world inspired by cinematic magic.
  • Try authentic Serbian cuisine at Pećinar Restaurant, feel the family hospitality, ensuring a truly memorable dining experience.

First Day

First day is dynamic and there are several places to visit. After #YourSerbiaHost picks you up from your Belgrade address (usual pickup time is 9am) you’ll travel in the direction of West Serbia. Your first stop in Zlatibor is Stopića Cave, one of the most beautiful in Serbia. Highlights of the cave are huge limestone tubs where water overlaps from top to bottom. Together with a small waterfall inside of the cave this natural attraction is a gem of West Serbia.

After the cave you’ll continue to the village Sirogojno where the ethnological open-air museum Old Village is settled. This museum is unique in Serbia, and one of the few in Europe. Households in this setup were moved from original locations and those are 100% authentic.

From Sirogojno you’ll move on to Gostilje Waterfall. This 20m high waterfall creates a wonderful scene and cold water makes pleasant refreshment on hot summer days. Stream after the waterfall creates fabulous rapids and cascades which are surrounded by intact nature.

Lunch is planned in the nearby restaurant Pećinar which is managed by the Pećinar family for six generations, best possible guarantee for good quality and service.

After lunch you’ll go straight to the touristic center of Zlatibor to take a ride on the longest panoramic gondola in the world – Gold Gondola. The 25min long ride will take you to the Tornik peak, over a lake, meadows and breathtaking landscapes.

Once the ride is over we’ll take you to Mokra Gora for overnight.

Second Day

Second day is reserved for a ride on the famous Sargan Eight railway and Kusturica’s Drvengrad-Mećavnik (Woodentown) ethnic complex. The train Nostalgia departs from Mokra Gora station at 10:30, so until then you have plenty of time for breakfast and morning coffee. During the ride on Sargan Eight railroad, the train makes several short stops. Most of them are scenic viewpoints ideal for taking photos or just enjoying views.

After an almost two and a half hour ride the train returns to the starting point and you’ll move on to Drvengrad-Mećavnik (Woodentown). This complex was created by Emir Kusturica after he filmed the movie „Life is a miracle“. You might get surprised with street names in this town, since those are named after famous people Kusturica admires: Nikola Tesla, Bruce Lee, Ernesto Che Guevara, Diego Armando Maradona, Federico Fellini, Ingmar Bergman.

For lunch break we recommend the restaurant Lotika in the Woodentown.

Optional Activity

In case you chose Drvengrad-Mećavnik’s Hotel Lotika as an accommodation option for overnight, instead of going there after the train ride we can take you across the border to the nearby Bosnian town Višegrad for a short excursion. Over there you can see an old Ottoman bridge over Drina River, take a ride on a boat, visit another Kusturica’s project – Andrićgrad and try ćevapi Bosnian style. This optional activity is with a supplement of 50-80€ group size dependent.

After two days of intensive exploration of these two beauties we’ll take you back to Belgrade. Arrival to Belgrade is around 8pm.

Really enjoyed this nicely packaged, leisurely-paced tour of prominent sights in and around Zlatibor. Vlada was the perfect host who had interesting snippets and backstories to share during different stages of the trip. We had plenty to discuss on random topics ranging from football to politics and even lessons on Serbian language. So long until we meet again...

We spent a few weeks in Serbia and we had a great time but the highlight of the trip was the excursion to Mokra Gora and Zlatibor. We can't really decide whether we liked a vintage train ride -"Sargan's Eight" more or the stunning nature of Zlatibor or the super tasty food !!! We learned so much about the culture and history of the place thanks to our amazing host Dobri. Highly recommended tour for people who want to learn, enjoy and indulge in Serbia's best!

The only thing I regret about my Zlatibor tour with Miljan is that it didn't last much longer. I had a terrific time seeing beautiful places and learning a lot about Serbia, its culture and people and will leave this country feeling enriched. As Miljan explained to me, he doesn't see himself so much as a guide but as a host, and he proved it. While he showed me a little part of his country, I both felt like I was having great fun with an old friend, while still learning so much background info that books and the internet alone couldn't provide. I can't imagine that you would find a more professional, knowledgeable person with a real passion for his country to show it to you ... and it comes along with meeting a very kind, special person who'll go out of his way to make you happy and your trip unforgettable. Hvala, MiljanE :)

AMAZING TOUR !!!! It was a huge surprise all our experience in Serbia. The people, the food, the cities and history is so reach that we were every day excited to have more and more visits. This visit to the mountains was the cherry of all our experiences. Never expected so many colors, natural tourist sites, experiences with out limited, and again the beauty of the places, the kindness of the people, the food and the histories behind every visits. Our tour guide was very friendly, highly trained and knew how to answer every question we asked. The program that was prepared for us was full of surprises every day and I keep surprising us with new experiences next day. Serbia impressed us, we did not expect to have such a wonderful time! Prices are like living 20 years ago, all at very cheap and fordable prices, sometimes we think that had been and error because of the cheap prices asked.
