Highlights
Tour Flow
#YourSerbiaHost will pick you up from your Belgrade or Novi Sad address in the morning hours (usual start time is 9am). First destination for the day is Subotica. A city which is by far the most attractive place of Bačka Region in North of Serbia. The first stop will be the tour of the City Hall, where you’ll walk its hallways and even get to the tower which serves as an observation deck. After the City Hall, main points en route are the mansion of Ferenz Raichl, which is a museum nowadays. You can visit the interior either to enjoy the exhibitions or just to admire its flamboyant decoration from the early XX century. Then the main pedestrian street Korzo where many beautiful buildings stand aside. At the end the Synagogue, often referred to as “one of the most beautiful Synagogues in this part of Europe”. The Synagogue was recently completely reconstructed, so it’s very worthy of your time to step inside.
From Subotica we’ll take you to a nearby very popular resort Palić. The reason for its popularity dates way back into the time, when this part of Vojvodina was part of the mighty Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Our primary interest in Palić is not in its spa features, but in its beautiful architecture of the early XX century. You’ll walk the Grand Park which was designed by the famous architects from Budapest, Marcell Komor and Dezso Jakab. The path in the complex will take you to the Water Tower, Grand Terrace, Women’s Lido and Memorial Well. The complex is set on the side of a Palić Lake, which gives a feeling of tranquility and relaxation.
You’ll explore more of Palić, but now from its gastronomic side. Two points on this Subotica and Palic tour will get you closer to local food and wine. First, we’ll take you to a local place for lunch to try “perkelt” or any other local dish. Second, is a wine tasting in a local, yet very exclusive winery Zvonko Bogdan.
From the winery we’ll take you back to Belgrade (or Novi Sad) and drop you off at your address. Usually the tour ends around 6pm.
