First Day
#YourSerbiaHost will pick you up from your Belgrade address early in the morning (usual pickup time is 9am) and you’ll be taken directly to Devil’s Town. Together with occasional stops you’ll reach your first destination around noon. The first day is just warming up, Devil’s Town is more of a natural attraction than a real hiking challenge, but you’ll enjoy every minute of it. Time needed to make a tour around the place is around two hours. Even though it’s more of a stroll than a hike, it’s advisable that you wear comfortable and sporty footwear. Also light clothes are advised since there are few climbs and stairs which will drain a couple of drops of your sweat.
When the Devil’s Town tour is completed we’ll take you to a local tavern for a deserved lunch break. Family which runs the place prepares homemade dishes in a local way.
After lunch you’ll continue to your destination for the day, Kopaonik Mountain, the largest massif in Serbia and also a National park. Beauty of this mountain is breathtaking. With its peaks, meadows and clean air it will present nature in its best. You’ll have an overnight there, to have a rest before your hike in the morning.
Second Day
In the morning, after breakfast and check-out from the hotel you’ll get to the center of the resort. From there you’ll go on a hike to the peaks Nebeske Stolice (2017m a.s.l.) and Suvo Rudište (1976m a.s.l.). Along the trail you’ll see several interesting areas of the mountain, like archaeological site Crkvine, which is still under exploration, meadows covered with blueberries and juniper (if it’s picking season you can eat those as much as you like), but also views towards highest peaks in central Serbia, Kosovo and Montenegro. This hiking trail is not extremely demanding, but it’ll require a certain level of physical fitness, adequate gear (hiking shoes and poles) and at least one change in your backpack. We will provide water and a few energy bars to renew your energy along the hike. The whole hike is approx. 4-5 hours depending on your fitness and pace.
Upon return to the resort’s center you’ll pack the gear and continue further to the west in the direction of Ibar River Valley, also known as “Valley of the Kings”. Lunch break is planned in a famous restaurant “Kod Mira” in village Bogutovac, which has been run by the same family for 200 years.
After lunch your journey continues through Kraljevo and Kragujevac and you’ll finally return to Belgrade in the evening.
