What to expect from the tour to Fruska Gora and Novi Sad in 2023/24

This is a good way to visit second most popular destination in Serbia, Novi Sad and its vicinity. The tour combines best of two worlds: comfort of traveling in a small group with affordable all-inclusive price. The tour is designed for up to eight persons, so you still have full dedication of your guide, like on a private tour.

Tour flow

#YourSerbiaHost will meet you at 10am in the center of Belgrade (exact location is provided in booking confirmation). First stop after only an hour drive is monastery Krusedol, the XVI century monastery which is considered for the most beautiful monastery of Fruska Gora. Relics of the founders, members of the holly family Brankovic are treasured inside of the church. Many other important people are buried there as well, such as two Serbian patriarchs and King Milan Obrenovic.

After spiritual experience in the monastery we drive on to Sremski Karlovci, town which is significant in many things. In 1699 Karlovac treaty was signed, here in Sremski Karlovci, when Ottomans were stopped from further advancing to North. The venue was Chapel of peace which is one of the places we you’ll visit in this charming town. In the town’s center there are several sites to visit: Four lions fountain, St. Nicola’s Orthodox cathedral, Grammar school… But also several wineries where we can take you for a quick wine tasting (optional).

From Sremski Karlovci we drive on to Petrovaradin fortress which overlooks Novi Sad from a cliff above Danube. This fortress is called Gibraltar of the Danube and it took 88 years to be finished. Today it’s favorite retreat of locals and home of renowned Exit music festival, which takes place every July.

We are crossing the river from Petrovaradin and getting to Novi Sad. This second biggest Serbian city is well known for its kind people, charming women and relaxed atmosphere. After a short guided tour you’ll have some free time for your own exploration and lunch break (at your own expense). Recommendations for lunch will be provided.

After break in Novi Sad we are taking you back to Belgrade. It’s only an hour drive.

We did our tour with Vladislav this week. Long story short, our day was amazing. He picked us up in our hotel at 10:15am sharp as we arranged. He started his "history class" as soon as we got in the car telling us what each building was and giving us an overview of the history of Serbia. Our first stop was at the Velika Remeta Monastery; then on to this little town with lots of history called Sremski Karlovci. Then we drove to Novi Sad, which is a beautiful city with lots of history and beautiful buildings. Our our way back to Belgrade we stoped to have lunch in this spectacular restaurant owned by this person that grows his own grapes for wine, makes homemade Rakija, and cooks amazing food!!! It was 2 hours of non-stop eating and drinking. Vladislav drop us off at the hotel ~6:15pm. My husband and I only have good things to say about our expedience with Serbian Private Tours. We highly recommend it. The comment is taken from TripAdvisor review page connected to our service, to see the source follow this link.
